Relocation can be a challenging exercise and more so when one relocates to a new country. Stress and anxiety levels are compounded substantially, particularly if the relocation is intended for the long term i.e. immigration in to a new country. These challenges can seem even more ominous when one is migrating with a family and children. The unknowns are many (new home, school, car, telephone, acquiring basic services, etc) and could seem intimidating.

 

Our Settlement Services representatives, welcome new immigrants to Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary or other cities in Canada and as part of our landing services help them settle down during their first few days of arrival. They help the new immigrant complete many important official applications that are required to be submitted to the government offices, immediately upon arrival.

 

Our interaction with the guest(s) begins before they land in Canada through a process of interaction over the internet (email & chat) or mail/phone calls. The Customer Service Representative understands the requirements of the guest and subsequently makes arrangements prior to the guest(s) arrival into Canada.

Services we offer include

  • Pre-arrival consultation on preparational activities for the new immigrant and family migrating to Canada
  • An address in Canada to redirect mail, for freight company moving your household belongings, etc. before you land in Canada and obtain your own address.
  • Pre-arrival arrangements making reservations at hotel/motel or short term rental stay.
  • Meet-n-greet on arrival at the airport
  • Transportation to your pre-arranged accommodation
  • A session on "ways of life in Canada" on the day following arrival
  • Assistance filling out forms required to be submitted immediately upon arrival
  • Getting connected; assistance with obtaining land lines, cell phone, internet connection, etc
  • Humanitarian services such as assisting in school registration for children, visit to local mall, etc.

Our services are very competitively priced and cost about the same (and in many cases lower) than that one would pay for them, if obtained individually. However, we come to you as a one stop shop and our Settlement Service Coordinators guide you through the process addressing most of the needs of a new immigrant.

We do not provide immigration consulting or assistance with application for Canadian Immigration, Permanent Residence, Canadian Citizenship or other similar related services.


Basic Package:

Pre-Arrival to Canada

 

Online Consultingº (120 minutes included in Basic Package) on telephone, email or MSN (voice chat) to answer any queries related to

Ø        Geography and location of different places in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary or other cities in Canada.

Ø        Information on distances between different locations/cities/etc.

Ø        Travel costs for commuting within Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary or other cities in Canada and surrounding suburbs by local transport

Ø        Approximate purchase price for cars

Ø        Approximate cost of living

Ø        Cost of products including daily consumables, furniture, white goods, etc

Ø        Schooling related queries

Ø        Banking and Credit Card requirements

Ø        List of goods to be carried on person

Ø        Any other queries

 

Organize¹, if required, stay at

Ø        Reasonably priced hotel or motel for the first few days

Ø        Leased furnished apartment for slightly longer term (couple of weeks, if available, or longer)

Ø        Stock, if required before arrival and upon approval, basics (milk, bread, fruits, etc) in the leased hotel/apartment (bill will be provided for settlement at actuals on arrival) 

 

Provide a Temporary local contact² telephone and address to the New Immigrant (NI) 

Ø        To Re-direct mail

Ø        For NI’s freight forwarders, if goods are being shipped to Vancouver

Ø        For NI’s family/friends, a telephone number to call

 

On Arrival to Canada

 

Ø        Meet & Greet

 

Ø        Pick-up from Airport³ and drop off to pre-arranged accommodation, which could be

v        Hotel/Motel

v        Leased apartment

v        Friend/Relatives place

 

Ø        Meet on Day 2 of arrival and provide a 45 minute session on “ways of life” in Canada

 

Post-Arrival to Canada

 

  • Assistance to fill out Permanent Residence Card (PR Card) Application Form and mail out the same.
  • Escort and assist the New Immigrant (NI) to the HRSDC office to file the SIN Card application
  • Escort and assist the New Immigrant (NI) to a local bank to open an account
  • Escort and assist the New Immigrant (NI) to a local bank to apply for a local Canadian Credit Card.
  • Escort and assist the New Immigrant (NI) to a local cell phone company to get a local cell phone.
  • Arrange a rental car for the new immigrant from local rent-a-car company at TradeNconsult's discounted rates.
  • Assist to fill out and mail Forms for medical cover
  • Schedule and escort the NI to Canada Customs office, if instructed by Customs officials at airport, on arrival
  • Educate on filling out the Child Tax Benefit form
  • Educate on areas/places to stay in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and surrounding suburbs and “how” to search for homes
  • Provide information on “getting connected” ….telephone, cell phone, cable TV and internet.
  • Educate and Advise on job search methods and government aided centers providing assistance to new immigrants
  • Educate and Advise on public transportation, purchase of car, etc

NOTES:

 

 

º   120 minutes of consulting included with Basic Package. Additional time can be purchased by the hour .

 

¹    Bookings in hotel/motel/leased furnished apartment/home would be arranged. However, confirmation and payments could be handled directly by new immigrant  with the accomodation provider. Should new immigrant require TradeNconsult to handle confirmations and payments, a nominal service fee would apply.

 

²    Contact telephone and address usage can be initiated 60 days prior to arrival to Vancouver and until 45 days from date of arrival into Canada.

 

³    Airport pick-up would normally provide seating  for up to 4 passengers and baggage space to include 4 suitcases (33”) and reasonable hand-baggage. Should your requirements exceed these amounts, or if special handling is required (physically challenged, etc) please inform TradeNconsult Customer Service Representatives in advance.

Optional Services:

 

Optional Services are charged for separately and not included in the Basic Package prices. They can be selected individually or as a package, at a discount.

 

1.       A 2.5-Hour “Drive-See-N-Experience” trip of Toronto/Vancouver/Calgary and surrounding areas.

 

2.   “Airport Drop-Off” for New Immigrants who arrive to complete their Landing formalities and leave back, to return at a later date.

 

3.      Arrange, escort and assist new immigrant to rent a more permanent home to move quickly from hotel/motel/furnished apartment.

 

4.   Assist New Immigrant to purchase basic household belongings such as TV, beds, couches, blankets, basic grocery, etc.

 

5.      Additional "Online Consulting" beyond the 120 minutes included within the Basic Package

 

6.       Escort and assist new immigrant to local school board to obtain school admissions for children

 

7.       Escort and assist new immigrant to service provider to obtain connections for land line, internet and cable/dish for TV, etc 

 

8.       A visit to your choice place of worship

 

9.       Escort and assist new immigrant to local Driver's Licensing office to file application for Driver’s License

 

10.    Escort and assist new immigrant to new/pre-used car agencies to purchase a vehicle (limited to six different agencies)

 

11.  Escort and introduce new immigrant to Job Search enterprises, government approved employment resource centers; government approved counseling centers, etc

 


All above services include transportation by car/SUV and are charged at extremely reasonable rates based on time used. Contact TradeNconsult for rates.

Other Services:

Whilst we work within certain known and commonly expected services and parameters, we do realize that each New Immigrants needs and requirement are different. Should you have a concern, on any other issues we would be quite happy to either provide you the service (at a reasonable fee) or refer/guide you to appropriate companies. These special needs could be

 

  • assist with post-arrival shopping at a supermarket/superstore
  • introduction to Realtors to help purchase a home 
  • referrals to insurance agents, doctors, dentists, etc.
  • introduction to a lawyer's office to conclude house sale documentation
  • arrange a post-arrival holiday to a different destination
  • assistance moving belongings to a new home
  • etc.

At TradeNconsult, we recognize the fact that every individual is different and may have unique requirements. Our services can go beyond the norms of what is normal and our services representatives would be happy to cater to any special or specific need.
